8x8 pages - do they count as a layout (1 pt) or as a mini-album page(1/2 pt)?
Thanks!
Is it going in a mini album or your normal scrapbook? I'd say if it's going in your scrapbook and not an actual mini album by itself it counts as a 1 point layout. Does that make sense?

It's part of an actual 8x8 album - I tend to think of mini albums as smaller (6x6, 6x4, 4x4 etc...) but that might be because I scrap 8.5x11 normally so 8x8 isn't much smaller

For your consideration:
Use a camera element (any type, chipboard, puffy sticker, card, etc.)
Layer your title (words physically overlap other words)
Use a supply from the last decade (pre-2010)
Scrap a photo that someone gave you (or sent you electronically)
Repeat a shape more than 7 times on a layout (square, star, circle, etc.)

Awesome RULES so far!
Sorry if I am repeating what others have suggested, but could we please ADD:

Arrows (3 of them on a project) = 1 point
Fussy cut at least one element on a project= 1 point.
Use at least one stencil = 1 point
Diecut your OWN stencil= 1 point
Photo corners (at least 3 of them on your project)=1 point
Use some sort of fabric: canvas, or burlap, or... =1 point
Hand make at least one embellishment on your project = 1 point
Use dimensional adhesive like pop dots or foam tape=1 point

Yep that's totally fine, go ahead and count it as 1 point. I usually say mini albums are themed ones because that's what I make them for. I too have used 8x8 albums as part of my normal scrapbooking.

I have a question about points for cards. I understand that it's 1/2 pt per card (just to complete the project). For the extra rules (using fabric, handmade embellishment, etc.) do those count full strength (1 pt for each card) or half (1/2 pt per card)?
For any project -- if the rule is 1 pt for handmade embellishment and there are 3 on your project, does that count 3 times or just once?

1 pt per project, no matter how many you use.

I was thinking this one would be good! Thanks for bringing it up. I know I need to print pictures so I'll extend it to paper layout makers too

Some additional rules you might want to add:
Use circles &/or doilies
Journal around the edge
Use photos or other elements about FOOD
Tripple matt a photo or photo block.
Put 5+ photos on a page
Use scrapbook "gems" or other bling.
Tear at least one edge.
Use heat embossing
My apologies if other people have already suggested these rule additons.
